Camaro Z/28 – 1969.
This Camaro Z/28 – 1969, is a little bit different from the models I normally make. This is a model from Lego.
One day I was walking in the city shopping mall and passed by the Lego store that was in there. I just wanted to have a quick look, just to see what they had. While browsing around, I saw this model on display. It looked different from what the models normally looked like. I cannot really say what it was that was different, but it spoke to me.
After some deliberation, I decided to buy it. Lego was something from my childhood and it would be nice to try it again.
I also had made the Camaro Z/28 from 1982 and thought that it would be a nice partner.
Some Specs.
Here are just some specs of the model. When it is finished, it will be around 36cm long and 9-10cm high. It has 1456 parts. This model has different options. You can build it with Red, White or Gray stripes. You can build it as a hardtop model or as a Cabrio.
You also can open the hood and trunk and the steering works.
I am not sure yet how I will build it.
Why a Lego Model?
My goal for this site was to tell and show something about building plastic scale models. So, why suddenly there is a Lego model? I don’t know. But it felt nice to just build one. You also can say that it is a scale model. But this time it is built out of Lego blocks.
As I also said, the model looked nice and I just wanted to try it. Childhood memories.
I am not sure yet when I will start the build, but I think I will finish the model that I am building right now, first. Else I would be building two models at the same time.
I also already saw that there is one more model in that same series. It is a Ford Mustang.
That model is already from a few years ago and I saw some rumors that maybe the model is not available anymore. A quick look at the Dutch Lego webshop and I saw that they still had it in stock. The price was a little bit lower than this Camaro. But I am running ahead of myself now. One by one.
