Volvo FH16 XL750 – Part 8

The Volvo FH16 XL750, part 8. And again, it has taken some time before there was another update. Things were going a bit slow. But finally I was able to do something and work on the RC Truck again. Now slowly there is some progress.

The wheels are on now, and slowly it starts to look like something. I placed the electronics and did the wiring. A bit tricky because I wanted to look nice. And I think that I managed it, so far.

The truck also made its first test drive. I had to change some things in the program, but it works nicely. There were the turn signals. I very carefully marked down, what color wire was for which side. I also looked carefully to make sure that the left light signal was connected to the correct wire. And still. When I made the test drive, the left and right signals were switched. I was already afraid that I had to disconnect the wires and reatched them again. But luckely, I could make a change in the program and switch them.

The speed was still a bit too fast for my liking. With some help from people in Facebook groups, I was able to slow it down a bit. But I still need to be gentle to control the stick on the remote for going forward or backwards.

Parts bag E is now finished and all the extra parts are saved.

Parts bag F is now opened and sorted. It is time for the cabin. This is the first time I spray-painted a bigger part. But I think it looked good. The inside, I will paint it by hand. I could also do it with a spray-paint can. But the masking off was very tricky. So, I’d better do it like this. Will see how things will go. The plan is that before the cabin is placed on the truck, I will place the wires in a nicer way, connect all the lights in the front, and try to see how to place a wall. This would be to hide the electronics and the wires.

Then, when that is all done, the plan is to place some interior lights in the truck. No idea how or if it will work, but we will see.
