Volvo FH16 XL750 – Part 7
Volv FH16 XL750 – Part 7
It has been a while since the last update. This was due to some health problems for which I was admitted to the hospital for 4 weeks. Now, slowly, I am getting back to building this model.
The side skirts are on right now. As you may be able to see, there are some orange light covers on the side markers. Behind it, you could place some LEDs so they can light up. In the building instructions, these lights are used for the speed control unit that could be placed in the model. But I don’t have this unit. But if you want, you could place some other LEDs behind it. I could do this, but I decided not to do it, at this moment. It is always possible to place some later.
So, the side skirts are on, and also the tanks on both sides are placed. Also, the coupler for the trailer is placed.
After not building for a while, it took some time to get used to it again. Also, finding the needed parts took some time. For some, I had forgotten where I had placed them.
Now I have reached the stage where I need to do some electronic work. Routing the wires from the taillights to the front and placing the different modules. Like the speed control unit, receiver, and the module for the sounds and lights. But before I place the sound and light module, I need to program it. This is also new to me, and I will see how things go. There are many instructions and videos on the internet. But when you need to do it yourself, it is always different.
Placing the different modules in the front will also take some checking and looking at where to place them. There are no covers, so when you look inside the cabinet, you can see them. But I want to hide them a little. I think I will use different locations, but we will see. I only hope that there is some kind of division wall in the kit, so I can hide one or two modules behind it.
I also had the idea of placing some interior lights. I now also need to prepare where to place them. So when I connect everything, it looks nice and it is easy to reach. Especially when you need to remove the cab, it needs to be easy.
Below you can see the impression pictures of the built so far.
Hope to see you again in the next update.
