Volvo FH16 XL750 – Part 4
Volvo FH16 XL750 – Part 4
Part 4 of building the Volvo FH 16 Globettrotter XL750.
For this part, it was all the parts from part bag C. This is the differential and the rear suspension.
The differential was a very greasy thing. All the needed gears had to be covered in grease. Sometimes it was difficult to hold the part because of the grease. I also had to use some C clips to clip things in place. Some were a little difficult to get in place, and one or two managed to jump away. But I was lucky to find them back again.
The differential was put in place and also the rear suspension was done.
Now it will be time for parts bag D. This is all about building the transmission. Yes, this model has a real working transmission. It only has three gears, but it still has a transmission. From what I have seen on Youtube, this will be a tricky thing to put together. You need to be very careful on how and in which direction you need to put the gears. Because it looks like that it is very easy to make a mistake. We will see.
Below are the images of building the differential and placing the rear suspension. (Click on an image to enlarge it.)
