Volvo FH16 XL750 – Part 2
Volvo FH 16 XL 750 – Part 2
Part 2 of the Volvo FH 16 XL 750 build.
I really had to get used to the way the building instructions are. It was a bit confusing, but by now I am used to it. And to be honest, they are very clear and good. The handy part is, that for every building step, on the left side, there is a list of all the parts that you need. Every screw, nut, or bolt is there, is a real scale 1:1. So, if you are not sure if you have the right screw, or bolt or not, just place it in the image on the left and you will see if the size is right or not.
Also, for example, you need to screw a bar and plastic part together, on the lower part they will tell you how far you need to screw it on. But it is also showing an image of how the part should look when you are done. With the correct size. So, place it on the image, and you know if you have the right size, or need to screw on or unscrew a bit more.
So far, the chassis is put together. The frame is metal bars and when things are together, it is very solid and has some weight to it.
Also, the servo for the transmission and steering are already on it. And yes, there will be a transmission in the truck. It has three gears. This transmission you also need to build it. But I already had seen several videos on how to do it, because it seems like it is very easy to make a mistake.
I am not that far yet, so we will see.
Bag A is finished, so far. Now it is time for bag B with all it small parts. The leftovers from bag A can go back in the bag and are there as spare parts. Very nice.
Bag B also should have parts for the suspension. Like the shock absorbers and leave springs. Will see how that goes, but it looks very nice (and real).
Below are the images of the build so far. Just click on a image to enlarge it.
