Volvo FH 16 XL 750 – Part 1

Wow, I am overwhelmed with the number of parts and the building instructions. This is not what I am used to. I need some time to get things straight, for myself.

The seller of the shop already told me, you just start slowly, but just start. Things will fall into its place and you will get used to it. Before I started this model, I thought I had everything I needed. Boy was I wrong. I thought I missed some thread lock and maybe some tools. So I went back to the store and see if they had what I needed. I found out, that the thread lock is already in the kit. I just did not find it yet. But for the tools, they had a complete set. Everything that I needed to build this model. So I got that.

Today I wanted to start with the first step, but first I had to sort things out. I also had problems locating the parts that I needed. So more sorting to do. I found out, that on the last 6 pages of the 45-page thick building instructions, there is the full overview of all the parts.

First They advised to make a simple setup and test all the electronics that need to go in the model. Like the motor and servo’s. This also took some time, because not all the instructions I had for that were clear. But I managed. All the servos and motor were working.

Now I am set and I can start the building process. But this is for the next day. At least everything is sorted, so I can start immediately.
