Studebaker 1953 – Finished
Studebaker 1953 – Finished
The 1953 Studebaker from AMT in the scale 1:25, is finished.
It was a challenge. This was the first time I built a model from the brand AMT. The building instructions were different from what I was used to. So I spent a lot of time reading and figuring out where some parts had to go. The building steps were not one by one. But just one image with several parts, pointing in the direction were they needed to go. Next to that were some written instructions for in which order you should place the parts. And some remarks.
Also, many parts had excess plastic on them. It took some time to carefully clean it.
This kit is a 3-in-1 kit. You had three models you could build. I first decided to build the Bonneville racer. But halfway through the build, I decided to mix things up a little. So I build the model using parts of the three suggested models. I think the result looks nice and different. I used parts from the standard model, the custom model, and the Bonneville racer.
As you can see, the engine is from the Bonneville racer. The front grill and front and rear bumpers are from the custom model. On the inside, I used some seats from the standard model.
The are also different hoods for this model. Depending on what mode you built. For the Bonneville racer, you could use two different hoods. Depending on what kind of color windshields you would put. For the windshields, I used the clear-colored ones. But for the hood, I choose the clear blue one. The clear colored hood you hardly see it and the blue one is a nice contrast.
Below are the images of the build. (You can click on the image to enlarge it)
