Kenworth T600 – Finished
The Kenworth T600 is finished. It was a “quick” build. Not what I expected.
It was nice to build a truck again. It has been a long time since the last truck I built.
The kit itself was okay. For me, it was a little bit “simple”. It was only 61 parts and it went quicker than I thought. I think that this is a good and nice kit for a beginner or intermediate builder. You had to paint a lot of parts because the main color of the sprues was green. Only one black and one chrome sprue. Maybe it would have been nicer if most of the parts would be on the black sprue. That saves a lot of time painting.
I have no idea why they placed most of the parts on the green sprue. But I think they would have had their reasons for it.
A Level 3 Built.
Revell has divided their models into different levels. My first idea was always, that the higher the level, the more difficult the kit would be. This is only partly true. The higher the level, the more parts the model has. And of course, you also could say that the build would be more difficult.
This truck had level 3. And as I mentioned, it was a little bit simple.
For example, the chassis was one part. Okay, I think it is also because it is a smaller scale. But in the scale 1:24-1:25, you have to build the chassis yourself. You also have to build the engine. This kit was a curb-side model. This means, there is no detailed engine.
Also for the interior, in a bigger scale, you have to put the interior together. Chairs, dashboard, etc. For this kit, the interior was one piece. The only thing you had to place was the gear shifter and the steering wheel. I have one image of the interior. The plan was to show it how it looks before you start and one image after I was finished with it. But I forgot this and only remembered it when already had glued the interior into the cabin.
Conclusion.
Overall, it was a nice kit to build. I just tried this scale (1:32) to see if it would fit in my display cabinet. And it fits. As I look at it, if I would build a truck in the scale 1:24-1:25, it would not fit in the display cabinet. Maybe one day I will build a bigger truck, but first I want to see where I would display it. As long as I don’t have a space for it, it will be on the back burner.
The kit was a little bit “simple” to my liking. But it was nice to build anyway. There are only a very few truck models in this scale. I hope that in the future more will come.
What will be the next that I will build? I think it will be one of the two Lego cars that I have in my collection. More on that in the post about that car.
