Adding New Models To My Stock
Adding New Models To My Stock.
Yes, I am adding new models to my stock.
As I mentioned last time, Black Friday was coming up. So, for me, it was time to see what offers I could find. I also wanted to be a little bit careful. Maybe we all know the pictures of scale model builders that have more stock than time. I want not to be like them. But maybe this is not the correct thing to do. Anyway, it was too good to leave them.
Then, what did I get?
The Ford Mustang.
This Ford Mustang is from Lego. After building the Camaro Z/28 1969 from Lego, I got a little bit hooked. It was nice to build that model. So, when I saw this one, I could not leave it.
It is the Lego model number 10265. The finished model will be 34cm long and has 1471 parts.
This model is 1cm shorter than the Camaro Z/28, but it has a few more parts. The scale should be the same. So that will be a small puzzle to place it in the display cabinet. But that is for later. I am not sure when I will start the build. I am thinking of building a plastic scale model first. Which one? Maybe the one below.
The Kenworth T600.
This Kenworth T600 is from Revell. It is model number 07446 and it is from Revell. It has 61 parts, it will be 25,6cm long, and is in the scale 1:32.
The scale 1:32 is new to me. Normally I built in the scale 1:24 and 1:25. As I had mentioned in a previous post, the trucks in the 1:24-1:25 scale, are too big (or too high) for our display case. And because I really wanted to build a truck again, I want to try this scale.
There is not much choice in this scale. Revell still has one more American truck in this scale. Next to that, they have a few models that also have a trailer. The thing is, on the trailer are the names of some music groups. Like Metalica, and Iron Maiden. Not really my thing
Only Italeri has more choice but in the scale 1:24-1:25. If you look at the “normal” trucks. Not those “show models”. And for that, there are only a few models. And with a little bit of luck, they can just fit in the display cabinet. Maybe one of those “regular” trucks will be my next purchase. Who knows.
